Tokushima Zoo

It takes around 30 minutes to Tokushima zoo in Japan from the Tokushima railway station by car.  We were there on 5 May, the children's day of Japan, in the middle of "Golden Week" (a number of public holidays happen to be at the end of April and the beginning of May), so there are many cars queuing up to enter the car park.  We arrived there around 11:00 and waited for around 30 minutes to finally enter their car park.  The zoo is surrounded  by lots of greens, trees, hills, and it is right in the nature.  Zoo itself isn't extremely big, but nice size to enjoy a walk with small children.  They have a couple of big fields where some kids like to play "tag" or any other game.  A small amusement park (free to enter, but tickets are needed to take rides) and a botanic garden are located next to the zoo where children can spend their whole day.

Condor.

A view from the big wheel.

They have a dorm in which you can see lots of different kinds of birds.  Our younger one pointed a bird flying outside the dorm and shouted "it escaped!"
